New Faces in the Office

Two staff positions in the IMSE department are now filled by new personnel — one a change of duties and one a new hire.

Debra Harper, who joined the department in February 2019 as office specialist, has moved to the project coordinator position, and a new office specialist, Danielle Frakes, has joined the staff.

Harper, a K-State alumna, has worked at the university since 2000 at both the K-State Student Union and the International Student and Scholar Services. She is the mother of IMSE ’18 graduate, Cassidy Harper, and soon-to-be mother-in-law of IMSE ’18 graduate, Cameron Garwood.

“I love the IMSE faculty, staff and students, and I’m excited to continue in a new direction within the department,” Harper said.

Frakes, also a K-State alumna, joined the department in August. She had previously taught elementary students and returned to K-State to work at the Berney Family Welcome Center in July 2018.

“I want to thank the department for the warm welcome,” Frakes said. “I look forward to working with everyone and being part of the IMSE team.”
